The boat day is what separates a trip to Cartagena from any other destination, and it is the heaviest line in a bachelor or bachelorette party budget: 850 to 3,800 USD for a full day depending on the size of the vessel. It is billed per boat, not per person, so the cost per head drops as the group grows.
These are the boats we operate for private trips to Cholón, Islas del Rosario and Barú: speedboats for 8 to 16 people, sailboats for 12 to 14 with cabins, catamarans from 10 people, and yachts for 8 to 10. All with a valid maritime permit and life jackets for every passenger — the Port Authority regulates departures and suspends them in bad weather.

What gets sold as a “yacht” in Cartagena, and what each band costs
Plainly: in Cartagena the word yacht almost always means a 36 to 48 ft launch. A real yacht with crew exists and sits in the top band. The bands we publish, per boat for a full day: 850–1,500 USD (36–40 ft, up to about twelve), 1,500–2,500 (45–50 ft, fifteen to twenty) and 2,500–3,800 (larger vessel or a crewed yacht). Park fee separately, per person, at the marina. If someone offers you a luxury yacht for twenty people at 600 USD for the full day, it is not a yacht.
