How pricing works, and why per-person figures mislead

Every major component is priced per unit, not per person. A villa costs the same for 8 people as for 16. A boat costs the same for 10 as for 20. This is the single most important fact for comparing quotes: a per-person number is meaningless without the group size it assumes.

There is no agency fee on the villa, the boat, the chef or the restaurants. Each is quoted at its own price, and that price does not change because it is booked through us.

Components and reference ranges (USD)

Villa / house in the Historic Center

Price: from about 600 USD per night for a house that sleeps 16
Billed: per night, per house
Worked example: 600/night x 4 nights = 2,400 USD, which is 150 USD per person for the whole trip across 16 people

Private boat, full day

Price: 850 to 3,800 USD depending on size and type
Billed: per boat, not per person
850-1,500 USD: 36-40ft speedboat, up to about 12 people
1,500-2,500 USD: 45-50ft, comfortable for 15-20
2,500-3,800 USD: large vessel or an actual yacht, with crew
Note: in Cartagena a "yacht" advertised for a bachelor party is usually a 36-48ft open speedboat
Dock departure tax is paid separately at the marina, per person

Local concierge / host

Price: 200 to 300 USD per day
Billed: per day, as its own line on the quote. Not a percentage of the trip
Worked example: a group of 12 over 4 nights pays 67 to 100 USD per person for the whole trip

Private chef

Billed: per service, with the market shop billed separately
Usually costs less than the same dinner for the group in an Old City restaurant

A night out (Colombian pesos, verified August 2026)

Club cover: around 30,000 COP where there is one
Drinks in a club: 15,000-30,000 COP
Table / bottle service: priced per bottle, arranged in advance. Standard for groups of six or more

Payment terms

Deposit to hold dates, balance before the trip, against a company invoice
Each member of the group can pay their own share directly to CABU and get their own receipt. One person does not have to front the money for sixteen
Never 100 percent upfront to a personal account. That is the main red flag in this market

Group size and minimums

Typical group: 10 to 20 people
Minimum: 6 people. Below 10 the per-person cost climbs sharply, because the house, the boat and the host are all billed per unit
