How Much Does a Cartagena Bachelor Party Cost? 2026-2027 Breakdown
A Cartagena bachelor or bachelorette party breaks down into four line items: accommodation, boat charter, ground transport and activities. The important part is that the first three are group costs, not per-person costs. The villa, the yacht and the van cost the same whether you are 8 or 20, so the per-person price drops sharply as the group grows.
Planning a bachelorette party instead? The numbers differ in a few places — boat size, table spend and how the nights are built. We keep them separate: Cartagena bachelorette party cost.
The four line items
| Item | How it is priced | 2026 reference |
|---|---|---|
| Accommodation | Per house, per night | Colonial villa, 4-12 bedrooms; split across the group |
| Boat charter | Per boat, per day | 850 - 3,800 USD full day, by size and type |
| Ground transport | Per vehicle | Van or executive coach, sized to the group |
| Activities and dining | Per person | The only item that does not drop with group size |
| Dock departure tax | Per person, at the marina | Government charge, paid separately in cash |
| CABÚ agency fee | — | 0%. You pay the supplier's real rate |
Why bigger groups pay less per person
A private full-day charter costs the same with 10 people aboard or 25. At 10, each person covers a tenth; at 25, a twenty-fifth. The same logic applies to the villa and the transport. A 20-person bachelor party often works out cheaper per head than the identical trip for 8.
How cost changes with trip length
| Length | What fits | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| 3 days | One island day by boat, one rooftop night, one day in the walled Old City | Long weekend, tighter budget |
| 4 days | The above plus Cholón and a villa day with private chef | Most requested by groups of 10-20 |
| 5 days | Adds a private dinner, spa or a second day on the water | Groups who want the full plan unrushed |
Where the money quietly leaks
- Intermediary margin: platforms and agencies that do not operate directly add 15-20% on top. We operate directly and do not charge it.
- Undisclosed dock tax: it appears at the marina and throws off the budget if nobody warned you. We itemise it upfront.
- Beach drinks with no agreed price: served first, charged after, at an inflated rate.
- Taxis without a meter: airport runs routinely get multiplied. Avoided with a pre-booked private transfer.
- Booking late: in dry season the best villas and boats sell out and prices rise. Booking two months ahead gets a 10% discount.
Getting the exact number for your group
Every trip is different, so instead of quoting a generic figure that never holds, we run the real numbers: send us your dates, group size and what you want to do, and we return a per-person breakdown in under 24 hours, free and with no obligation.
Which costs are fixed and which scale with the group
This single distinction explains almost every surprise in a Cartagena quote. Some costs are charged once for the whole group no matter how many people show up. Others are charged per head. Understanding which is which is how you read a quote properly and how you decide whether adding two more people helps or hurts.
| Cost | Charged | What that means for you |
|---|---|---|
| Villa or house | Once, per night | Every extra person lowers the per-person cost, up to the house capacity |
| Private boat charter | Once, per day | Same effect. A boat for 12 costs nearly the same whether 8 or 12 board it |
| Ground transport (van) | Once, per transfer | Fixed until you need a second vehicle |
| Chef and staff | Once, per service | Fixed; groceries are the part that scales |
| Dock departure tax | Per person | Scales exactly with headcount |
| Restaurant meals | Per person | Scales |
| Club table minimum | Once, per table | Fixed per table, so bigger groups spread it thinner |
| Activities booked per head | Per person | Scales |
The practical consequence: the jump from 6 people to 12 usually cuts the per-person cost more than any negotiation will. Most of the big-ticket items are fixed, and you are dividing them by twice as many people.
What a quote should itemise, and what to be suspicious of
A quote that arrives as a single number per person is not a quote, it is a proposal to trust someone. Ask for it broken down. A proper breakdown separates at minimum:
- Accommodation, with the number of nights and the exact property named.
- Boat, with the size, the hours included and where it departs from.
- Ground transport, listing each transfer rather than "transport included".
- Meals and drinks, specifying which ones are covered and which are not.
- Nightlife, specifying whether table minimums are inside or outside the figure.
- Taxes and fees, listed separately.
If a supplier will not name the property or the boat before you pay a deposit, that is the signal to stop. Naming the asset is what makes the quote verifiable — and it is exactly what resellers avoid, because they have not secured it yet.
The costs that are usually left out of the first number
- Dock departure tax. Charged per person at the marina, in cash, in Colombian pesos. Small, but it surprises people at 8 a.m. on the boat day.
- Fuel surcharges on boats. Some charters quote the vessel and add fuel by route. Ask whether the number includes fuel for the itinerary you actually want.
- Cleaning fee and security deposit on villas. The deposit is refundable, but it needs to exist in your cash flow.
- Groceries for the chef. The chef's fee and the shopping are two different lines in most quotes.
- Club table minimums. Entry is often free; the table is the spend. Confirm whether the minimum is included or additional.
- Tips. Boat crew, chef, drivers and villa staff. Budget for it rather than being caught out.
- Card processing fees. Paying by international card can add a percentage. Ask before assuming.
How to compare two quotes fairly
Two quotes for the same trip can differ by a third and both be honest — because they are not covering the same thing. Before comparing the numbers, line up these six answers:
| Question | Why it changes the price |
|---|---|
| Is the property named, with photos of the actual house? | Generic listings often mean the house is not secured |
| How many real bedrooms, not sleeping capacity? | Sofa beds are how a 16-person price gets built on an 8-bedroom house |
| How many hours is the boat, and what route? | A 5-hour charter and a full day are very different products |
| Which meals are included? | The most common gap between two quotes |
| Are table minimums inside the figure? | Often the single largest omission |
| Is there an agency commission on top of supplier rates? | Resellers add a margin over the local price; operators do not |
Flights: the part you control entirely
Flights sit outside our quote, and they are also where a group most easily saves or wastes money. Cartagena has nonstop service from four US cities today, and seven from December 2026 — Miami, Fort Lauderdale, New York JFK and Atlanta — with Houston, Washington Dulles and Orlando joining in December 2026 — with 19 airlines serving the airport in total.
Two things reliably lower the number: booking three to four months out for high season, and having everyone converge in Miami or Fort Lauderdale for the final leg rather than each person buying their own connection. The second one also means the group lands together, which is worth more than the saving.
Seasonality: the same trip, different price
| Period | Demand | Effect on the quote |
|---|---|---|
| December to April | Peak dry season | Highest rates on villas and boats; book earliest |
| Easter week | The single busiest week | The steepest prices of the year and the least availability |
| May, June, November | Low | The best value window; weather still good |
| July and August | US summer | Higher again, especially for large houses |
| September and October | Lowest | Cheapest; rain is usually a short afternoon downpour |
| Long Colombian weekends | Domestic peak | Catches foreign groups out; check the calendar before fixing dates |
Paying: currency, deposits and cash
- Currency. The local currency is the Colombian peso (COP). Quotes may be presented in USD for convenience, but suppliers are paid in pesos, so the exchange rate on the day matters.
- Deposits. Villas and boats are held with a deposit, with the balance due before or on arrival. A supplier asking for the full amount up front, in cash, with no contract, is the pattern to walk away from.
- Cards. Widely accepted in hotels, restaurants and beach clubs. Tell your bank you are travelling so the first transaction is not blocked.
- Cash in pesos. Needed for tips, the dock tax, beach vendors, mototaxis and small purchases. Exchange rates in the historic centre are generally better than at the airport.
Why we do not publish a fixed price per person
Because any number published without knowing your group size, dates and what you want to do would be either useless or misleading. The same four-night trip can differ by a factor of two between eight people in November and eighteen people at Easter — and both numbers would be honest.
What we do commit to is this: we contract directly with the houses, boats, restaurants and suppliers in Cartagena, so you pay the real supplier rate with no agency commission on top, and the breakdown arrives itemised so you can see exactly what each line is. Master price table: what each piece costs (Cartagena market reference, September 2026)
Real market ranges for mid-to-high budget groups in Cartagena, verified September 2026. Your exact quote depends on dates, group size and availability — we send it with a per-unit breakdown in under 24 hours.
| Component | Billed as | 2026 range |
|---|---|---|
| Villa / colonial house (mid-high level) | Per night, whole house | $850 – 1,800 USD |
| Old City mansion (14–20 guests) | Per night, whole house | $2,800 – 3,800 USD |
| Speedboat (up to 10–12 guests) | Full day, per boat | $850 – 1,400 USD |
| Large sport boat 38′–46′ (12–16 guests) | Full day, per boat | $1,400 – 1,900 USD |
| Catamaran (up to 18–23 guests) | Full day, per boat | $1,900 – 2,600 USD |
| Yacht / powercat with cabins (8–12 guests) | Full day, per boat | $2,800 – 3,800 USD |
| Private chef at the villa | Per person, per dinner | $50 – 80 USD |
| Local concierge / host | Per day, whole group | $200 – 300 USD |
| Overnight security | Per night | $150 – 300 USD |
| Private transport (van + driver) | Per day | $100 – 200 USD |
The arithmetic nobody shows you: Cartagena charges per unit, not per person
A $3,000-a-night mansion sounds expensive until you divide it: split between 16 people it is $187.50 per person per night. The same house with 8 people costs $375 each. A bigger group doesn't make the trip more expensive — it makes it cheaper. Which is why you should distrust any "per person" price that doesn't tell you how many people it assumes.
Three full scenarios, with the group total
| Group | What it includes | Group total | Per person |
|---|---|---|---|
| 10 guests · 3 nights | Mid-high villa + 46′ boat + 1 chef dinner + host + transport | ≈ $6,900 USD | ≈ $690 USD |
| 12 guests · 4 nights | High-level villa + catamaran + 2 chef dinners + host + security + transport | ≈ $12,300 USD | ≈ $1,025 USD |
| 16 guests · 4 nights | Old City mansion + cabin yacht + 2 chef dinners + host + security + transport | ≈ $19,800 USD | ≈ $1,240 USD |
Flights and club alcohol not included. Calculated from the table midpoints; your quote can land below or above depending on dates and the house you choose.
What almost no quote includes (confirm these in writing)
- Flights and airport transfer (sometimes included — ask).
- Club alcohol: tables and bottle service are billed separately.
- Covers, club entries and tips.
- On the boat: confirm whether the price includes fuel, captain, dock fees and the departure permit. That's where most surprises live.
- Meals beyond the contracted chef dinners.
- Travel insurance.
And a warning about capacity: a villa's or boat's advertised capacity is not its comfortable capacity. Don't divide the price by the provider's advertised maximum — ask how many real beds the house has and how much shade the boat has.

Split payments and minimum group size
- You can pay in instalments. A deposit holds the house and the rest is split across payments on a schedule agreed in writing from the start. This is not bank financing or interest-free credit: they are direct payments to the company, each with its invoice.
- We work with groups from 6 people. Worth knowing before you ask for numbers: because everything is charged per unit, a group of 6 pays for the same house and the same boat as a group of 12, so the per-person price climbs. At 6 or 8 people a smaller house and a speedboat instead of a catamaran usually makes more sense, and the quote reflects that.
Frequently asked questions about cost
How much does a bachelor party in Cartagena cost per person?
It depends mostly on group size, because the villa, boat and transport are group costs that get divided. The largest single line item is usually the charter: 850 to 3,800 USD for a full day depending on capacity. Because we charge no agency fee, you pay the supplier's real rate. We send a per-person breakdown in under 24 hours.
How much is a yacht or boat charter in Cartagena?
Between 850 and 3,800 USD for a full day in 2026, depending on the size and type of vessel. That price covers the whole boat and is split across the group. The dock departure tax is paid separately at the marina, and food and drinks are arranged in advance so you do not depend on floating vendors.
Is it cheaper to travel with a bigger group?
Yes, significantly. The house, the boat and the transport cost the same for 8 people as for 25, so the per-head price drops as the group grows. Only individual activities and restaurant meals stay constant per person.
How many days should a Cartagena bachelor party be?
Four days is the sweet spot and the most requested. Three days spreads the fixed cost of flights and transfers too thin; five or more raises daily spend without adding much to the plan. Four days covers the island day, Cholón, a rooftop night and a villa day with a private chef.
What is not included in the price?
International flights, the dock departure tax paid at the marina, tips and personal spending. Everything else — villa, boat, transfers and booked activities — is itemised in your proposal so there are no surprises on arrival.
Do you charge for a quote?
No. Quotes are free and carry no obligation, and arrive in under 24 hours with a per-person price and a breakdown of every line item. We also charge no agency fee on the services themselves, because we work directly with local suppliers.
How and when do we pay?
We accept international credit cards, bank transfers and secure digital payments, always with an official receipt. For groups we work with a deposit that locks in the villa and the boat, and the balance before arrival.
Is there a discount for booking early?
Yes, 10% when booking two months ahead. Beyond the saving, it secures the larger-capacity villas and the better boats, which sell out first in dry season from December to April.

Already decided? The next two steps are open on the site rather than behind a call: the day-by-day itinerary for 3, 4 and 5 nights — which day the boat goes, when the big night lands and what to book first — and how payment works: deposit, balance, company invoice, and what must be in writing before you pay anything.
How many of you are there? Group size decides which house and which boat fit, and what each person pays: Cartagena bachelor party by group size, 6 to 20+ people.

The two kinds of price you will see, and why they do not compare
Quotes for Cartagena come written two different ways, and mixing them up is the most expensive budgeting mistake people make for this destination.
- A per-night price by group band. Something like "from $600 a night for 15-20 guests." That is a lodging price: it tells you what the house costs, and nothing else.
- A per-person price for the whole trip. Something like "about $1,025 per person." That covers the house, the boat day, chef dinners, the host and transport.
Neither way is dishonest. They answer different questions. But side by side, the first will always look cheaper — because it is only one part of the trip.
The same trip, counted both ways
A villa at $600 a night, four nights, 16 people: that is $2,400 of house, or $150 per person. It sounds like a steal, and it is — for the house. But the trip in your head also has the boat day, two chef dinners, the host and the van. Add those pieces and the same group lands near the $1,240 per person we publish for the high-level scenario. The gap is not someone overcharging: one number was the house, the other was the trip.
Four questions that put any two quotes on the same scale
- Is that nightly price the house only, or does it carry anything else inside it?
- Is there a minimum number of nights for that rate, and does it change in high season?
- On the boat: does the price include fuel, captain, dock and departure fees?
- What is excluded? Flights, alcohol, club tables and tips almost never are.
With those four answers you can put any two quotes on the same scale. Our calculator does that addition in front of you, piece by piece.
The five pages that answer the rest
All of it is open on the site, with no form in the way:
- The number, now: the budget calculator — people, nights and level, and it returns the per-person price with the breakdown.
- Which house and which boat fit a group of 6, 12 or 18: by group size.
- Which day each thing goes on: the 3, 4 and 5-night itinerary, with the five mistakes groups repeat most.
- If someone offers you a fixed package: what it must include before you can compare it.
- How to pay without risking the deposit: deposit, invoice and what goes in writing.
Still comparing destinations? How this compares with what the market publishes
Almost no agency in Cartagena publishes prices. The one that does, as of September 2026, advertises 200–350 USD per person per night for a mid-range trip (shared villa, boat day, two dinners, nightlife cover, transfers) and 350–600 USD per person per night for premium. Our three published scenarios come out at about 230, 256 and 310 USD per person per night (690 USD for 3 nights with 10 people, 1,025 for 4 nights with 12, and 1,240 for 4 nights with 16, no flights or alcohol): all three sit inside or below the market's mid-range band, and our high scenario is below the floor of the other premium tier. The reason is structural: we bill per unit and charge no agency fee, so what the group pays is the house, the boat and the dinners, not a margin on top of each line. What a package must include before you can compare it.

Send these five things and nothing else is needed: the dates or the month, how many nights, how many people, what is non-negotiable for this group, and the city everyone is flying from.
- Within 24 hours on a working day you get two or three houses or boats that actually fit those dates, with what we checked on each one, and an itemised quote: each line priced separately, what is included and what is not, and the payment calendar. No agency fee.
- You choose. Nothing is held or booked until you confirm in writing. If nothing fits, we say so instead of pushing a substitute.
- Deposit against a company invoice — never 100% upfront, never to a personal account — and each traveller can pay her own share and receive her own receipt.
- One named contact on WhatsApp before, during and after the trip, who answers at eleven at night on the 31st. RNT 215668, verifiable in the public Colombian registry.
December and the first week of January are quoted on the actual house, in writing, because those two weeks sell out first.
Tell us what you need and get it back in 24 hours
You do not need to have it all decided. With these four things we send a real quote, not a brochure:
- Dates (or the month) and how many nights.
- How many people. Here you pay per unit: the house, the boat and the van cost the same for 8 people as for 16, so the headcount moves the per-person price a lot.
- What is non-negotiable for the group: an island day on a private boat, a chef at the house, a club table.
- Where you are flying from, and whether everyone lands the same day.
In under 24 hours you get an itemized breakdown per unit with what is included and what is not, plus the payment schedule: a deposit to hold the house and the balance before the trip, against a company invoice. No agency fee and no commitment — the quote is a draft open to changes, and nothing is reserved until you confirm.
