In short:

A Cartagena girls trip or group trip works best with a whole staffed colonial house instead of hotel rooms, a private boat for the island day, and everything priced by the unit, so the per-person cost drops as the group grows. For twelve people, three nights in the house and one boat day come to about USD 220–275 per person, with the CABÚ concierge included, before flights and meals. We plan groups of 10 to 30+, flying in from across the US.

The group trips we plan

  • Girls trip or guys trip. A long weekend or a week with your crew: a house with a pool, an island day, long dinners and one big salsa night. If it is also a bachelorette or bachelor party, see the Cartagena bachelorette party and Cartagena bachelor party guides.
  • 40th, 50th or 60th birthday. The house, the boat and a chef's dinner, with nobody in the group stuck organising. See milestone birthday trip.
  • Big families and several generations. One house that fits grandparents and kids, with breakfast served.
  • Company retreats and incentives. Meeting space, private dinners and a formal invoice. See corporate retreat in Cartagena.
  • Christmas and New Year as a group. The two weeks that sell out first. See Christmas and New Year in Cartagena.

Private villa or hotel for a group?

From eight or ten people up, the house almost always wins: the group has breakfast together, you get common areas, a pool and a terrace to yourselves, a chef can cook and music can play without bothering anyone, and the per-person price drops a lot. A hotel makes sense for groups under six, or when every couple wants full independence. Above sixteen people we pair two houses a few steps apart inside the walls. What a Cartagena group trip costs

CABÚ prices each thing by the unit —the house by the night, the boat by the day— not per person, and with no agency fee:

ItemPrice
Staffed colonial house inside the walls, up to 16 peoplefrom USD 600 a night
36–40 ft boat, up to about 12 people, full dayUSD 850–1,500
45–50 ft boat, 15–20 peopleUSD 1,500–2,500

CABÚ conciergeIncluded

Example: twelve people, three nights. House from USD 600 a night, one day on a 36–40 ft boat, with the CABÚ concierge included all three days: USD 2,650–3,300 in total, or about USD 220–275 per person. Flights, meals and the chef are extra.

The luxury version is the houses the market lists at USD 2,300–8,000 a night in high season, a crewed yacht and a chef for every dinner. Those are quoted by name for your exact dates. The three full setups groups book most, with per-person prices, are in Cartagena group and party packages.

How many of you: which house and which boat

  • 6 to 10 people: a mid-size house with a pool and a 36–40 ft boat.
  • 11 to 16 people: a large staffed house and a 45–50 ft boat.
  • 17 to 30+: two houses close together inside the walls and a catamaran or two boats.

A four-day group trip that works

  1. Arrival: private airport transfers, even when everyone lands at a different time. House ready, groceries in, an easy dinner.
  2. Island day: private boat to the Rosario Islands or Barú on the first full day of good weather. See Cartagena yacht charter.
  3. City day: private Old City walk first thing, afternoon at the house, chef's dinner. See private Old City tour.
  4. Night out: a reserved table and salsa in Getsemaní. See Cartagena nightlife.

Getting the group there from the US

Nonstop flights run year round from Miami (American) and Fort Lauderdale (JetBlue), in winter from New York JFK, and from 17 December 2026 from Houston and Washington Dulles with United. With four or five flights a week on most routes, the flight day decides the trip, not the other way round. Every route: nonstop flights to Cartagena from the US. The long weekends that work best: Cartagena long weekends 2027.

What a CABÚ proposal always includes

  • Transfers: airport pickup and drop-off, and transport to every activity.
  • Breakfast at the house every day.
  • Housekeeper with daily cleaning.
  • CABÚ concierge for the whole trip, at no extra charge.
  • Food and drinks on the boat, chosen by the group when confirming, with no separate dock tax.

Not included: dinners and nights out (we book them at no cost and you pay at the venue), club cover and bottles, and tips for the boat crew. The boat is matched to your group, taste and budget: from a fast speedboat to a yacht or a catamaran.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a group trip to Cartagena cost per person?

For twelve people, three nights in a staffed colonial house and one private boat day come to about USD 220–275 per person, with the CABÚ concierge included, before flights and meals. Full setups with a chef and a bigger boat run about USD 690–1,240 per person. The per-person price drops as the group grows, because the house and the boat are priced by the unit.

Is Cartagena good for a girls trip?

Yes. It is a walkable walled city with islands less than an hour away by boat, great restaurants and salsa nights, and a staffed house means the group stays together. From Miami it is about a three-hour nonstop flight.

Villa or hotel for a group trip to Cartagena?

From eight or ten people, almost always a villa: shared breakfast, your own pool and terrace, a private chef and a lower per-person price. A hotel makes sense for groups under six.

How far ahead should a group book?

For December, January, Holy Week and summer, 60 to 90 days ahead, because large houses and boats sell out first. In low season three or four weeks is usually enough.

Can each person pay their own share?

Yes. Deposit and balance against an invoice, by international bank transfer or a card payment link (credit or debit), and every person can pay their share and get their own receipt. Never 100% up front and never to a personal account.

Is there a discount for booking early?

Yes: booking two months ahead, we apply a 10% discount.

Send these five things and nothing else is needed: the dates or the month, how many nights, how many people, what is non-negotiable for this group, and the city everyone is flying from.

  1. Within 24 hours on a working day you get two or three houses or boats that actually fit those dates, with what we checked on each one, and an itemised quote: each line priced separately, what is included and what is not, and the payment calendar. No agency fee.
  2. You choose. Nothing is held or booked until you confirm in writing. If nothing fits, we say so instead of pushing a substitute.
  3. Deposit against a company invoice — never 100% upfront, never to a personal account — and each traveller can pay her own share and receive her own receipt.
  4. One named contact on WhatsApp before, during and after the trip, who answers at eleven at night on the 31st. RNT 215668, verifiable in the public Colombian registry.

December and the first week of January are quoted on the actual house, in writing, because those two weeks sell out first.
