National Aviary & Barú

On this exciting excursion, you will explore the impressive National Aviary, where you will witness the astonishing beauty of nature and a diverse collection of birds in their natural surroundings. Located at kilometer 14.5 of Barú Island , this paradise of biodiversity offers a surprising contrast to the typical Caribbean environment. Here, the dense vegetation, waterfalls, streams and swampy areas will immerse you in a unique environment.

The National Aviary of Colombia is more than a tourist attraction; It is a place that combines ecotourism, education and research. It not only seeks to show the diversity of Colombian birds, but also to promote their sustainable use and conservation. The aviary houses breeding programs for endangered species, such as the Blue-billed Curassow, the Andean Condor and the Harpy Eagle.

With more than 170 species and nearly 1,700 specimens , the Aviary offers a one-way tour of approximately two hours through three ecosystems: tropical humid jungle, coastline and desert.
